You think I’m riding high on some kind of gravy train
But you’d run a country mile if you could see inside my brain
I got this two-headed monster and it’s tearing me apart
As I lie here in the dark

One head got the fantasy, the other's got the facts
And they’re laying down an album with a thousand tiny tracks
Every track it tells a story, every story's got a sting
And I can’t do a goddamn thing

I got the shakes
I got the chills
I paid my dues but I just can’t pay my bills

I paint a pretty picture and I tell some pretty tales
But you wouldn’t wanna be there when I’m coming off the rails
You see this amazing life I lead
But you don’t see me bleed

I got the shakes....

You think I’m riding high on some kind of gravy train
But you’d run a country mile if you could see inside my brain
I never even was who you think I’m supposed to be
So call your dogs off me

I got the shakes....
